ROAD BLOCKADE IN DEMAND OF REMOVAL OF LPG GODOWN IN SILIGURI

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 23rd August, 2015: Local of Baribhasha area of Siliguri today staged a road blockade in the Baribhasha Main Road in the demand of relocating the godown of LPG cylinder of a PSU oil company. The demand of the locals is a very old demand because of the densely populated area in the adjoining areas of the godown. The residents fear that their might be a major accident in the godown because of the highly inflammatory substance stored in the godown. Apart from this, the resident complains that no necessary safety measures are taken in the godown for ensuring the safety of the nearby residential areas. Though it was Sunday, yet a huge jam of vehicle happened due to the blockade. Later by the assurance of the police, the blockade was lifted and normalcy prevailed in the area.
